The book explores questions relating to European identity in the northern hemisphere of the former Soviet Union, in particular in the Baltic countries with an emphasis on Estonia, Latvia, but also taking into account Lithuania, Belarus and Russia. It is a result of the third annual Symposium on Intercultural Communication and National Identity in 1996.
