This book looks at the variety of Viking activity and what life was like in far-off Viking times. The Vikings are the stuff of much popular legend; they sailed across the stormy northern seas, bringing trade and terror with them, for over 300 years between 780 and 1070 AD. They also settled peacefully in many lands throughout Europe. Although renowned for their pillaging activities, they were also skilled navigators, ship builders, traders and artisans.
