Torment and Tequila in Belle Epoque Mexico is the first English-language collection of selected fiction of the major Mexican author and political figure José Là³ pez Portillo y Rojas (1850 - 1923). Là³pez Portillo y Rojas's career spanned the late nineteenth century to the tumultuous years of the Mexican Revolution. Included in this collection, the novella Nieves is one of the most frequently cited nineteenth-century Mexican literary works.
