Tom Swift and His Electric Runabout

Tom Swift and his father prepare to race their specially-designed, prototype electric race car across a 500-mile endurance course, but the road won’t be easy. Victor Appleton was a pseudonym used by the Stratemeyer Syndicate and its successors, most famously associated with the Tom Swift book series. Created by Edward Stratemeyer, the Stratemeyer Syndicate was the first book packager to have its books aimed strictly at children, rather than adults. Wildly successful, the Stratemeyer Syndicate was at one time believed to be behind the overwhelming majority of books read by children in the USA.
