Erick Rücker Eddison, CB, CMG (1882-1945) was an English civil servant and widely celebrated author of epic fantasy novels. Tolkien in particular praised ‘The Worm Ouroboros’ as inspiration for his ‘The Lord of the Rings’ series. Eddison remains an influential pioneer of the fantasy genre.
