The Near Eastern collection

The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek´s collection from the Near East is modest, but both select and wide-ranging.
The chronological span is more than 7.000 years and geographically it covers five countries. The collection comprises humble terracottas and bronzes, but also monumental works, such as fragments from Nebuchadnezzar´s Ishtar gate at Babylon and from the imperial palace at Persepolis.
