The book starts with some introductory chapters on pig production, the behaviour of pigs and the housing systems. It continues in such a way that the reader follows the pig´s journey through the individual housing systems. There are then some chapters on feed, the working environment and the management of production in terms of work planning, work efficiecy and economy.

The book is a translation of a Danish book entitled Svinehold - en grundbog from 2009.
