Stella

The one act funk opera Stella travels from ancient Rome on planet Tellus (the earth) to the shepherds on the fields of Bethlehem on planet Isis, 22 light years away, and the birth of Christ on all living planets in all solar systems. Finally the audience is "beamed" away into year 3714 on Isis, now a tolerant Matriarchate with time travels and telepathy. A cosmic danger lurks on planet Tellus. Will we survive? But don't take anything for granted in this moving and surprising religious music drama.

Stella is a debate provoking modern rhythmic opera, dealing with religious subjects in an exciting and enigmatic way. The science fiction genre and the fantastic, intelligent dinosaur inhabitants of Isis may possibly lure a substantial audience into being confronted with a number of central Christian themes: God's Will, the true Messiah, Love and Tolerance, Eternal Life, Hope, Redemption.

Stella is a science fiction opera about God, the true God. Not the millions of fake Messiahses and mortal Gods, who have all vanished in the dark throughout the history of our galaxy. Not even a "proven" true God, but an abstract being outside time and space; the Will of God. Does God really forbid us to stop wars? Does God love diseases and Sister Death?
