Rise of the winged lion

An alien spacecraft is blown out of the sky above a frozen world at the edge of nowhere. There is but one survivor. Eighty years later, the Galaxy is ruled by the parasitic Vorg. Another two decades pass. The Vorg are at war with a rebel coalition. Crown Princess Li An Tarnee of Korundra suddenly finds herself the focal point of armed resistance against the Vorg when her father is killed by the imperials in a huge battle above her homeworld. 
Three events, widely separated in time as well as space, yet inextricably linked to the awakening of an awesome force that has lain dormant for thirty millennia. A force so strong and feral that even the hitherto invincible Vorg are getting afraid.
