"The Oxford English Reference Dictionary" extends the aims of conventional dictionaries and seeks to be more useful, more practical and more informative. It combines an authoritative and up-to-date Oxford dictionary with encyclopaedic proper-name and in-depth entries. New words in the language are included, as well as spellings, grammar information, pronunciations and word origins. A 16-page full-colour map section is accompanied by a large section of reference appendices (including countries of the world, prime ministers and presidents, the body, the solar system, and a chronology of world events).
