The editors of Neurosurgical Classics II selected 58 neurosurgical works from around the world. Organized into 31 groups, each was selected based on their present or historical importance. Each work is preceded by an introduction containing pertinent historical background material and references. Each of the 58 works was reproduced as closely as possible to the original format. Since the specialty of neurological surgery has changed significantly since 1940, the focus of Neurosurgical Classics II, is on more recent developments, especially those of present or historical importance to current neurosurgeons.
