Gelled Glass

This compendium contains instructions for working with the Gelled Glass method. The technique is simple to use and is based on the natural gel-forming polysaccharide alginate, which is extracted from seaweed and used as a binder with unique properties.

Apart from the cost of power and glass powder, Gelled Glass is a very affordable medium. Like pâte de verre, it is also a relatively energy-efficient medium because it requires a lower kiln temperature than glass-casting or glassblowing and also allows for working with recycled glass.
