The purpose of the book is to strengthen the peace movements. There are three major subjects in this book which are being discussed. The first one is the epistemological consequences of quantum mechanics. The other is understanding the lawful process of capitalism and imperialism in the 20th century, and the third is which consequences the labour movement and the peace movement have to draw from the two first pointsScientist in the 20th century have widely discarded the materialist philosophy, and regarded it as an outdated way of thinking. Their assumption was that one can't rely on philosophy as a way to solve the problems of modern physics.
This means that one can't for example, "reject" quantum entanglement on the grounds that it violates materialist principles, or solve other conundra by simply resolving to "think more dialectically."
Marx and Engels discovered history as a scientific process that can be understood. This opens the possibility for humanity to proceed from an unconscious to a conscious planning of society, without wars and crises.
