Rome´s existence pans nearly 1400 years, from its legendary foundation 753 BC to AD 610, when the Eastern Empire formally departed from its Latin roots. The creation of the Roman Empire its changes, its endurance, the legends, and finally its ´fall´, are all portrayed and explained in a manner both suitable as an introduction to Roman history and as a means for continued study.
