The writer Merete Pryds Helle takes the reader on a journey through 6,000 years of ancient history, visiting the civilizations which flourished around the Mediterranean and influenced one another. This is a sensuous account of the people of that time, their beliefs and the beautiful objects with which they surrounded themselves.
