Determined to fit in to Bush life, 'townie' Virginia Trueheart (Ginger) is doing her best to become the perfect teacher's wife in the rugged back country of New Zealand. There are certainly challenges to overcome from aloof locals and their
incomprehensible customs to antiquated household appliances and the inevitable scepticism of family and friends. But a wedding will surely bring all elements together in the harmony Ginger seeks - come hell or high water.
However as the day draws near everything seems to conspire against her and her plans threaten to dissolve into farce.
