Beskrivelse

The ancient Egyptians believed that the hieroglyphs on their religious
walls and on their papyri were alive! Ed Sanders, Beatnik-poet, American
bard, rock musician, political activist and co-founder of the legendary
rock band the Fugs was so fascinated by the world of hieroglyphs, that he
took a course in Egyptian at the New School in New York City in the fall
of 1961.
Since then Glyphs have been an important part of his creative life.
Every day Ed Sanders drew hieroglyphic doodles and images, and slowly
they grew to many hundreds, even thousands of Glyphs, contained in his
archive.
People who know him have seen how, to this day, he makes his glyphic
drawings on any surface at hand— envelope, note pad, wall, leaflet or
any expanse at all. A good number of his poems, and even his short
stories, contain Glyphs.
In this book we proudly present a selection of Ed Sanders’ works with
Glyphs from recent years: A highly entertaining collection of witty commentary,
timeless lyricism and good advice for these times, expanding our
knowledge of existence itself. Sanders also comments on the terrifying
constriction of our basic rules of civilized behaviour in a modern world
of digital slavery, war monsters and
trumpsters.
With this little book we can offer
relaxation, insight, comfort and lots
of good laughs!
In Ed Sanders’ own words: Keep on
Glyphing!
